Privacy Policy
Last updated: 2026-08-10
In effect from: 2026-08-10
This is the privacy policy for cycleweave.com, the home of Cycleweave’s writing on Cycleweave. It explains what is collected, why, and how to change it.
Control You Have
Your rights depend on your jurisdiction, but broadly: access, correction, erasure, portability, objection, and opt-out of sale or sharing for targeted advertising. UK/EU readers hold these under GDPR; readers in California and other US states hold equivalents under CCPA/CPRA and comparable laws. A Global Privacy Control signal is treated as a valid opt-out. Further detail: State Privacy Notice and Do Not Sell or Share.
Retention Periods
Storage is time-limited and purpose-limited. Subscriber and comment data goes when you withdraw it; analytics data expires on schedule. The site is served over HTTPS, access to what we hold is restricted, and safeguards are kept proportionate to the data involved. No safeguard is perfect.
Types of Information
This site may collect technical visit data (IP address, device and browser identifiers, referrer, pages and times) and, separately, information you supply directly: subscription email addresses, comment names and addresses, and anything written in a message to us.
Worth saying outright, since it is the question we get asked: we ask readers not to send us sensitive personal details, and we delete rather than retain anything of that kind that reaches us unprompted.
Browser Storage
How cookies are used here, and how to turn them off, is set out in the Cookie Policy.
Where advertising is served, third-party vendors including Google may use cookies to serve ads based on your prior visits to this and other websites. Google’s use of advertising cookies enables it and its partners to serve ads to you based on your visit to this site and/or other sites on the internet. You may opt out of personalised advertising by visiting Google Ads Settings, or opt out of a third-party vendor’s use of cookies for personalised advertising at www.aboutads.info.
Children’s Privacy
Readers are assumed to be adults. We neither target nor knowingly collect information from children below 13, or below 16 in jurisdictions setting that limit; such information is deleted if found.
What We Do With It
Purposes are limited to running and improving cycleweave.com, measuring traffic in aggregate, delivering email that has been opted into, and supporting any advertising displayed on the site.
Email We Send
Nobody joins the list without confirming from their own inbox. Once on it, you can leave via the unsubscribe link in any email, and we include our postal address in every send as the law requires. The list is not sold or shared.
External Partners
Several providers may be involved in delivering cycleweave.com — hosting, analytics, email delivery, and advertising networks. Where a provider determines its own purposes (advertising and analytics vendors typically do), it is an independent controller and its policy governs what it does.
